Stepping up to the plate...once again

Hello to everyone.

Months have passed and so much has happened. Sorry about not posting before now, not being able to upload pictures made me lose interest in posting and sharing my world. Please forgive me.

The biggest news is Amesel had a filly. I called her Fardous which means "above Heaven" in Arabic. She was born on June 5, 2011. Amazingly I got to witness her birth as she was born during the day 1:00. She will be gray when she gets older just like her mother.

Gamil is starting to turn black.. I am not sure how this is possible because both of his parents are bays. Yes, his father is dark bay but his get is or has all been bays. At first I was a bit upset about him starting to change as I wanted to have a bay, but now that I think about it... it will be great to have a black stallion! Poor little guy sorta looks odd as he is changing, all splotchy and a huge black strip down his back which looks like someone used a miniature lawnmower on him. All down his legs are turning black and his hindquarters are bald with tiny black hairs.

No, I wasn't lost! I was kicked out!

Hello everyone!

I have had an awful time with blogspot not letting me in so that I could write on my blog. Just by chance I was reading http://egyptunbound.blogspot.com and decided to follow. When I did that there was a button showing my dashboard so I clicked it to see if I could get in... yippy here I am but the page won't enlarge and I am typing in a small box.

Last week I took in two rescue horses with the help of ESMA. Funny thing is they haven't even helped with sending food for these two. On top of that the stables is charging me more for these two horses (belady/local) than for my purebreds. No phone call to ask about them. No message on ESMA site. Only told me to stop uploading my pictures of the horses. WTF is going on? Oh nevermind... I have sent for the owners to come and pick up the horses. They have been well fed and their wounds are starting to heal. One had an abscess that has opened several times to drain it. They are so happy to see me when I visit them in the mornings. The brown one (still don't know it's name) loves to rub his head on me...sure beats a biting horse! He has almost knocked me over several times.

I haven't really been up to anything other than going daily to check on Gamilla as last week she started to show she is getting close to having her foal. That and fighting another exacerbation with my MS...need to write about that one day! I really try not to think about it and just get on with life.

I just tried to load a picture of Gamilla but they won't let me. Seems as if I have finished my quota... guess I will have to see about that... maybe I could delete some photos...probably not... I know I will have to end up paying for it!

I wish everyone thought like this!

Nour El Ein turns two today.

Hello everyone!

Today Nour turned two. I am sure she doesn't even realize that she is older. I gave her lots of love and she went out for a run. She is really turning into a beauty!  Happy Birthday!

My visit to ESMA Shelter for Dogs and Cats

These last few days I have been depressed and not really wanting to post on my blog. I am sure everyone who has been following my blog understands. RIP Anwar my little angel.

This morning I pulled myself together and went to see my horses. They were all doing well. The stable boys said they covered Hasnaa with Rameh and they would do it again today in the afternoon.

While I was going to the stables the flier of ESMA blew at me when I rolled the window down. I knew it was a sign for me so I asked some of the stable boys for directions and off I went. I was told to look for Sakara Country Club (a red wall) and keep going straight. We slowed down when we found the club, looking on both sides of the road. Finally we found it off to the left. There was another car with Dr. Ayman (I think that was his name) just setting off to another shelter where they are performing operations on some cats. Just as I got out of my car one of the people I has met at the stables during the first feeding of the starving horses arrived. Sherif showed me around the shelter. To get in the shelter you have to open the steel door and put your foot in as you squeeze your way in so that the dogs don't get out. I thought I would find a few dogs and a few cats but what I found was a shelter that is over crowded with dogs and cats. It was over whelming to say the least.

While I was at ESMA the specialized groomer from the pet spa at Harrods (Shadi) showed up and we set things up for him to pamper some of the animals. He started with a lovely little dog I wanted to adopt if it was a male. Unfortunately it was a female. She was a lovely little thing just as dirty as some of the kids you see out and about that hasn't ever seen a bathtub or shower. Once she was all cleaned up she was amazing! She was whiter than we first thought.
